I have over 40 years experience in composite materials and structures made from composite materials. In my career I have been a stress engineer, a manufacturing engineer and now a materials and processes engineer, which was my ultimate goal. I have a smattering of knowledge of carbon, glass and Kevlar composites; structural adhesives; and structural core materials, as well as primers for composites. While I certainly don't know everything, I usually know where to look for the information on these subjects, or who to call within the industry for answers. I have a lot of industry contacts, especially through my work with the CMH-17 committee and ASTM-D30, which is the committee for testing of composites. I have been a member of SAMPE (Society for the Advancement of Materials and Processes Engineering) for over 30 years, and have been active in SWE (Society of Women Engineers) off and on for about as long. Contact me for general issues related to composites and particularly specifications and standards. I know I'm crazy, but I love working on specifications! They are a challenge because there are so many "customers" for specs, and you have to write for each one of them. If you need help with a specification, I can provide guidance based on my experience and knowledge.
