Has anyone used free apps in place of traditional software for design, materials selection and material combination evaluation? I found an app for designing braided composites – you select the yarn (fiber) and the matrix (resin) and it calculates composite laminate properties based upon the entered properties. This particular app is strictly a teaching aid. However, it appears handy and simple. Does anyone know of other apps they use in performing composites work for rapid laminate estimates? Such apps might be very useful for quick comparisons and reference calculations – not necessarily for very critical, ultimate project design.https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.braidedcompositedesign.braidedcompositedesign
Actually, I would open it up to not just braiding apps but to engineering apps as a whole. I personally had three apps on my phone that I would use occasionally, that are not longer supported or functional on the latest Apple OS. They were Engineering Calc, Martin, TLC. Does anyone have apps on their phone they would recommend.
