I am the Lead Materials Engineer for Nonmetallic Materials in the Aviation Engineering Directorate managing airworthiness issues with composites, polymers, adhesives, and other non-metallics on Army aircraft. My areas of expertise include composite structures, composite manufacturing, and polymeric erosion coatings. I wrote the Army general composite repair manual, leveraging prior Air Force and Navy procedures. Before becoming a team lead, I was a structural engineer in AED working primarily on the Comanche program from 2001 to 2003. Between 1995 and 2001, I worked as a propulsion engineer, first with Naval Air Systems Command, Pax River, MD and then with AED. I earned a Bachelors of Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Technology and a Masters in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Purdue University.
